Academy
Our junior high performance program.
Club de Tennis Ile des Sœurs' Academy is one of the most successful and renowned training centres in Canada. Led and supervised by highly qualified, experienced coaches, the Academy brings together passionate young athletes who dream of rising to the top ranks in Canada and internationally. This long development process aims not only to forge high-level athletes, but first and foremost to develop autonomous, responsible, committed and disciplined individuals.
Our programs are evolving!
Starting in September 2025, the Academy will increase the number of training hours in each of its programs for athletes under 12 years of age. All of our programs are based on Tennis Canada's Whole Player Development Pathway (WPDP), which advocates for a high volume of tennis and physical training. This change will allow our young athletes to train in a more ambitious environment, providing them with a solid foundation for progressing in their sport and performing well in competition. Tennis and physical training sessions take place on weekday evenings and once on weekends.
Admission
All our programmes are by selection only and subject to limited availability. Admission is based on tournament results and Quebec rankings (where applicable). For the Futures-étoiles 1 program, no ranking is required: tennis-related physical tests will be used for evaluation instead.
Our U12 programs
Futures-étoiles 1
This group is intended for young athletes aged 6 to 7 who demonstrate exceptional motor skills, competitive spirit, and tennis ability. Children in this group demonstrate a strong desire to play and to be active. They will have their first competitive experiences during the year.
Futures-étoiles 2
Bringing together athletes aged 7 to 8, the Futures-étoiles 2 group focuses on developing technical and tactical skills. Tennis skills are better mastered, and young athletes show a keen interest in tennis. They have just discovered competition through their first tournaments.
Espoir
The athletes in the Espoir group already have some competitive experience. Athletes can excel in several sports thanks to their physical and tennis skills. They always enjoy playing, and the motivation to win sets in.
Relève
Athletes in the Relève group participate in at least ten tournaments per year. They demonstrate a genuine passion for tennis. Outside of the programs' training sessions, they are encouraged to play regularly with their parents or friends in their program in order to increase their playing time.
Development
Tennis becomes a true passion and a personal commitment. The Development group is the final step before our Sport-études program. Athletes compete in approximately 15 tournaments per year, take private lessons and increase their playing opportunities outside of supervised hours.
Our Sport-études Program
Sports study
The athletes in this group are enrolled in a Sport-études high school recognised by the Quebec Ministry of Education. Tennis is now an integral part of their daily lives. They train five days per week at the Club and participate in around fifteen tournaments per year. They are going through the crucial period of adolescence, and our role is to closely support them in their personal and athletic development by cultivating qualities such as perseverance, discipline, self-improvement and effort, open-mindedness and respect. The athletic goals are to win the Canadian championships and tournaments on the ITF Junior circuit, to enrol in NCAA Division 1 universities in the United States, and to follow a high-level training programme tailored to international competition leading to the professional circuit.
T.E.A.M.
Tennis-Études Avant-Midi
Designed for athletes in secondary 3, 4 and 5 with an international profile, this program aims to increase training volume. Athletes continue their education remotely, train and study in the morning, and participate in Sport-études group training sessions in the afternoon. The T.E.A.M. programme offers optimal flexibility to allow participants to travel and take part in ITF tournament tours.
